Choose the right consent strategy for your users and your region.
Why modes matter
Different countries have different privacy laws.
QookieQloud lets you choose how your website handles cookies based on those requirements — using Consent Modes.
You can pick between:
Strict Mode
Flexible Mode
Auto Mode
Each mode determines when and how cookies are allowed to load.
Strict Mode
Best for: GDPR, UK-GDPR, ePrivacy (EU/EEA/UK)
- Blocks all non-essential cookies before consent
- Consent must be explicitly given (opt-in)
- Consent logging is required
- 100% compliant with strictest regulations
Example countries:
Sweden, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, etc.
Flexible mode
Best for: Regions with lighter or no cookie laws
- Cookies can load immediately
- Users can still opt out via the banner
- Good for analytics-first or ad-supported websites
- Common in U.S., Canada, and parts of Asia
Note: This mode is still transparent, but does not delay tracking.
Auto Mode
Best for: Global websites and SaaS platforms
- Detects visitor country
- Automatically applies Strict or Flexible based on region
- You can override countries manually
Why it’s great:
Set once. QookieQloud handles the rest.
Summary
You can define a default mode when adding a domain, and later adjust via the “Customize” tab.
Want to override consent mode in specific countries? Use Regional Overrides in your domain settings.
