How it integrates with QookieQloud™
Google Consent Mode v2 allows websites to adjust how Google tags behave based on the user’s consent choices.
With QookieQloud™, consent signals are automatically managed and transmitted in a fully GDPR-compliant way — with no manual coding.
QookieQloud integrates directly with both:
- Google Tag (gtag.js)
- Google Tag Manager (GTM)
We support both Basic and Advanced implementations of Consent Mode v2, giving you full control over tag behavior before and after consent is given.
Supported Consent Mode Signals
When Consent Mode is enabled, QookieQloud automatically updates the following flags:
- ad_storage — Controls advertising cookies and conversion tracking
- analytics_storage — Controls cookies for Google Analytics
- ad_user_data — Manages whether user data is shared with Google for ads
- ad_personalization — Controls whether personalized ads are enabled
Each parameter is updated in real time based on how the visitor interacts with the consent banner.
How it works
Google Consent Mode v2 is always active in QookieQloud. There is no setup or manual configuration needed.
- Add your Google services
In the QookieQloud adminpanel sidemenu, go to Customize → Services and add Google Tag Manager or Google Tag to your domain. - Automatic script loading
Once configured, QookieQloud automatically loads and initializes all scripts. - Consent signals are sent automatically
Consent signals are automatically updated depending on the user’s interaction with the banner.
Consent Modes: Strict(Basic) vs Flexible (Advanced)
QookieQloud supports both operational modes and applies them automatically based on region or override.
Strict Consent Mode (EU/EEA/UK)
- Google tags only load after consent is given
- Agencies managing multiple clients and domains
Flexible Consent Mode
- Google tags load immediately
- All consent flags are initially set to "denied" and updated on interaction
Mode is managed in the admin panel via Settings & Customize → Mode.
Verification (Optional)
You can confirm that Consent Mode is working by using:
- Google Tag Assistant
- Chrome DevTools
- QookieQloud Debug Function:
QookieConsentDebug.printSummary()
This prints current Consent Mode values and changes in real time.
